The main difference between R-80 & R-180 related to flask size (1L vs 3L), lift mechanism (manual vs automatic) and application flexibility (R-80 is a basic, entry level model for routine distillations where R-180 is IP42 protection with multiple glass assemblies for more varied applications)

The R-80 is positioned for routine evaporation workflows using evaporating flasks up to 1 L. For larger-volume needs, the R-180 has flask size up to 3L.

The exact scope depends on the selected system and formal quotation. A pump, interface, chiller, glassware and other accessories may be discussed according to the laboratory workflow.

The heating bath temperature for both R-80 and R-180 is 95°C

Suitability depends on the solvent, cooling, vacuum control, safety practices and complete laboratory setup.

A larger model may be appropriate where flask capacity, throughput, bath temperature, lift type or automation needs exceed the R-80’s role

Buchi provides complete integrated system consisting of Rotavapor + Vacuum Pump + Recirculating chiller, however customers can combine existing vacuum pumps and chillers with the R-80 as well.
