BUCHI ProxiScout™ Portable NIR Analyzer in Pakistan

Rapid, non-destructive, multi-parameter analysis directly in the field, at incoming-goods reception, inside warehouses, beside production lines and at quality-control checkpoints.

ProxiScout brings NIR analysis to the sample instead of requiring every sample to be sent to a central laboratory. It is designed for immediate decisions on material composition, conformity, segregation and process adjustment.

  • Results within seconds; the instrument supports 2-second scans, while total analysis time depends on the sample and selected model.
  • Measure several validated parameters from one scan, such as moisture, protein, fat, ash or starch.
  • Portable 1 kg format for field, warehouse and production-area use.
  • Broad 1,350–2,550 nm spectral range for sensitive multi-parameter NIR analysis.
  • No routine reagents, solvents or destructive sample preparation for the NIR measurement itself.

Supplied and supported in Pakistan by Continental Worldwide Trading Company (CWTC).

Key Features & Practical Benefits

Results in Seconds

A scan can be completed in approximately two seconds, allowing fast decisions on acceptance, segregation, formulation or process adjustment.

Multi-Parameter Analysis

One validated spectrum can predict several properties such as moisture, protein, fat, ash, starch or other application-specific parameters.

Minimal Sample Preparation

Many materials can be scanned directly or presented using reusable powder, liquid or rotator accessories.

Portable In-Field Operation

The 1 kg handheld format moves between fields, warehouses, trucks, raw-material reception and production checkpoints.

Low Routine Cost per Sample

The NIR measurement itself does not require routine reagents, solvents or destructive wet-chemistry consumables.

Wide Portable Spectral Range

The 1,350–2,550 nm range captures important overtone and combination bands used in quantitative and qualitative NIR models.

Offline Result Availability

The mobile workflow can provide results even when an internet connection is unavailable.

Rugged Construction

IP65 protection and MIL-PRF-2800 Class 2 positioning support demanding field and industrial use.

Centralized Data and Model Management

The cloud platform can support remote access, calibration updates, device management and collaboration across sites.

Application Examples

Flour and milling

Flour and Milling

Rapid flour analysis for moisture, protein, ash, starch and gluten. Useful for incoming wheat evaluation, flour grading, blending decisions and quick checks near milling or packing operations.

Grains and cereals

Grains and Cereals

Portable analysis of wheat, maize, rice, barley, soybeans and other grains for parameters such as moisture, protein, starch, ash or oil, depending on the validated model. Supports lot segregation, supplier payment and receiving decisions.

Feed, forage and feed ingredients

Feed, Forage and Feed Ingredients

Field or plant-floor analysis of raw materials, premixes and finished feed for moisture, protein, fat, ash, fiber, ADF/NDF and other nutritional parameters where suitable calibrations are available.

Edible oils and liquid products

Edible Oils and Liquid Products

With the liquid kit, selected applications can target free fatty acids, acidity, authentication, adulteration, saturation-related properties and moisture, subject to the available calibration and matrix.

Dairy and ingredients

Dairy and Ingredients

Rapid fat, moisture, protein, lactose, total solids and composition testing in selected dairy including powdered milk. Useful when production teams need immediate results rather than waiting for central laboratory turnaround.

Soil, fertilizer and environmental screening

Soil, Fertilizer and Environmental Screening

Rapid on-site screening for soil moisture, organic carbon and total nitrogen, plus fertilizer-formulation applications.

Frequently Asked Question

The number of applications the ProxiScout NIR can perform are limitless, if you have enough data about your application belonging to testing of specific ingredients/raw materials/finished goods in liquid/solid/semi solid form, contact us and we can guide you through the application development process.

The NIR measurement itself does not require routine chemical reagents, extraction solvents or destructive wet-chemistry consumables. Reusable accessories are used for sample presentation, although vials, cleaning materials and normal handling items may still be required.

It can substantially reduce routine testing time and increase testing frequency. Reference methods remain necessary for calibration development, validation, dispute resolution and periodic performance checks.

Yes, selected food and dairy matrices can be analyzed for fat and other composition parameters when a suitable validated calibration exists. The customer’s product range and reference results must be reviewed.

Yes. Potential parameters include moisture, protein, ash, starch, gluten and oil depending on the material and calibration. The powder kit is suitable for ground samples, while the rotator is valuable for granular or heterogeneous samples.

ProxiScout can support rapid NIR screening of soil and fertilizer properties where validated models exist. BUCHI specifically lists soil moisture, organic carbon, total nitrogen and fertilizer formulation. Phosphorus and potassium are indirect, application-specific predictions and must be confirmed through feasibility and validation.

Yes. BUCHI states that results can be obtained through the mobile application even when offline. Data can be synchronized when connectivity becomes available.

ProxiScout is a handheld portable analyzer for field and mobile checkpoints. ProxiMate is a fixed at-line analyzer designed mainly for routine food and feed plant use.

Use the rotator for non-homogeneous or granular solids, the powder kit for finely ground materials and the liquid kit for clear or opaque liquids. CWTC should review the sample before final configuration.
